Warwick Corvette Taranis
The body of the Corvette Taranis attracts attention at first by the unique Oil finish where the surface is sandblasted and then covered by a matte lacquer. This treatment extremely emphasises the structure and grain of the wood making a wonderfully unique appearance. This method makes only sense for woods like Ash, where the soft and hard parts result in a highly textured presentation.
The Taranis comes standard with a low B tuning. By that Warwick anticipates the down-tuning, which is very popular in Metal genres. Suitable for this, the Corvette Taranis, named after the lord of thunder of Celtic mythology, is equipped with passive MEC MM/J-pickups, whereas the neck pickup has extra large pole pieces. This pickup has been especially developed for the combination with the MEC MM humbucker. The sound of both pickups related to each other is extremely balanced. The Taranis is completely passive yet surprisingly powerful.
The Taranis is available as 4-string in the B/E/A/D tuning or as 5-string in B/E/A/D/G.
