The Focusrite SAFFIRE PRO 26 I/O Multi-Channel Firewire Interface. FireWire based audio interface with eight Focusrite quality preamps, for use in a fixed installation or for a mobile setup, this bus-powered unit can provide a total of 26 inputs and outputs.

The Focusrite SAFFIRE PRO 26 I/O is the ideal Firewire interface for music recording enthusiasts on a mobile multi-channel mission, providing more inputs and outputs with higher performance specs than any other interface in its class. Saffire PRO 26 i/o combines eight award-winning pre-amps with sixteen channels of ADAT, and two channels of SPDIF (up to 192kHz). Also employed are Focusrite's high performance 24-bit digital converters. The Saffire PRO 26 i/o is much more than just a high performance breakout box; the Saffire PRO package includes Focusrite's highly acclaimed Saffire plug-in suite, comprising EQ, Compression, Amp Simulation and Reverb, in both VST and AU format. The hardware features 2 headphones outputs and a global monitor control with mute and dim options, as well as two 'super channels' featuring variable mic impedance and instrument input, instantly accessible on the front fascia. For global control and set-up, the SaffireControl PRO software application provides advanced monitoring options and hardware settings.

Saffire is cross platform with the following minimum requirements, Mac: OS X Panther (10.3.3 or later), G3/800MHz, G4/700MHz, 256MB RAM, PC: XP, Pentium Celeron, or Pentium compatible processor of 900MHz, 256MB RAM
Saffire will work with all ASIO, WDM and Core Audio compatible software, in other words all software apart from Pro Tools. It’s been tested thoroughly with many software packages including Cubase, Logic, Sonar, Ableton Live, Digital Performer, and Propellerheads Reason to name a few
Powered from Firewire port - 6-pin can supply power. If you only have 4-pin then simply connect up the Mains adapter that’s provided to power the Saffire
