Adam Adam Active Monitors
Adam S1A (PAIR) The Adam S1A Active Nearfield Monitor . Able to reproduce bass down to 40 Hz with excellent linearity, localization and spatial information can be heard with astonishing impact, ideally suited for a smaller restricted monitoring situation such as a DAW, post-production station, or mobile recording facility. The Adam S1A is the most compact speaker available with the A.R.T. folded ribbon tweeter. Despite its small size, the S1A is able to reproduce bass down to 40 Hz with excellent linearity (-3dB). Localization and spatial information can be heard with astonishing impact unprecedented in such small nearfields. They are ideally suited for a smaller restricted monitoring situation such as a DAW, post-production station, or mobile recording facility. The S1A can also be used in combination with a subwoofer to make an outstanding full-range 2.1 or 5.1 system. Featuring superb imaging as a result of ADAM’s proprietary A.R.T. (Accelerated Ribbon Technology) folded ribbon tweeter, the S1-A is ideally suited for project studios as well as professional recording and broadcast facilities. The tweeter is the same in all Adam monitors, starting with the P11-A near field monitor and ending with the S7-A Main Monitors. You get the same superior resolution above 2 kHz from these monitors that sets all Adam loud speakers apart from their competitors and by applying moderate equalization to the low end nearly an additional octave in bass response is achieved compared with a passive system. The S1A woofer and tweeter are each powered by separate 100W RMS amplifiers and are actively crossed over at 2.2 kHz. The system's frequency-response has highs extending all the way to 35 kHz and lows down to 40 Hz (±3 dB). Tweeter gain can be adjusted 4 dB up or down with a pot on the rear panel. Also found on the back of the P33-A are contour controls (+/- 6 dB) for high- and low-shelf filters at 6 kHz and 150 Hz, respectively. The balanced analog input is on a balanced XLRconnec tor. The main features of the Adam S1A include:
