AKG AKG Large Diaphragm Condensers AKG C Series
| C 4500B-BC With the ever-increasing number of broadcast stations going "digital" - at least with their automatic control facilities - the on-air studios are more and more clustered with control computers. These computers and their associated monitors radiate electro-magnetic r.f. fields which can be a serious problem for nearby dynamic microphones. Not so with condenser microphones with transformerless output, inherently immune to external electro-magnetic fields. AKG's solution to this increasingly imminent problem is the new C 4500 B-BC, a large-diaphragm condenser microphone, especially tailored to the needs of on-air radio announcers. The major issues of this new development are: -
The front-end firing capsule position for most effective close-to-the-mouth placement with the least visual disturbances for the radio announcer -
Reduced proximity effect by inherent minimum working distance to the capsule of about 2 to 3 inch -
Extremely effective internal pop-screening through a newly developed multi-layer pop filter between the front grille and the capsule -
An additional 120 Hz roll-off filter for both, further reduction of remaining proximity effect and suppression of rumble or structure-born noise -
The -20 dB pre-attenuation pad, which enables the user direct replacement of dynamic microphones without altering the adjusted gain structure on the associated equipment -
Extremely "voice-friendly" acoustics, requiring no further processing gear after the microphone. Highly effective electro-magnetic screening by the use of an all-metal housing and double screening of all acoustically open sections of the housing -
The included spider suspension H 100 keeps problematic low frequency vibrations away from the microphone and also protects the microphone from abuses of more temperamental talents in front of it. -
The included W 4000 is a cellular foam wind and pop screen offering additional protection when working close to the C 4500 B-BC.
