The Artwood series is Ibanez's finest stage electro acoustic. The AW85ECE is a slim necked dreadnought cutaway which blends tradition with technology, to produce impeccable acoustic dynamics, and captures and replicates those characteristics courtesy of the onboard electronics. The B-Band SquealRepeal pickups features an innovative feedback reduction system that will keep your sound loud on-stage, without any annoying feedback howling through the house PA. No adjustment or fiddling with controls is required. Plus, the built-in tuner equipped on SRT preamps makes tuning on-stage easy.
In addition to the 1/4" output jack, the AW85 ECE contains a balanced XLR output for direct connection to the house PA. Easily found AA battery operation avoids the risk you cannot find replacement batteries.
The AW85ECE features wooden binding on neck and body with a unique wooden fretboard inlay, and a walnut pickguard which enhances the beauty of the wood.
B-Band transducers use an electret film rather than the piezo pickups found in many electro-acoustic guitars. The result is a more open, transparent sound, without the colouring typcial of piezo pickups. Much like a condenser microphone is more transparent than a dynamic. If you think a piezo pickups sounds artificial, B-Band transducers are for.
