Since the 1970s, Pete and Lynda Cornish have been making high quality musical instrument effects for many of the worlds most renowned bands (Pink Floyd, Paul McCartney, The Police, Queen, Jimmy Page, Lou Reed, Iron Maiden and Metallica, amongst others). The Pete Cornish name has become synonymous with trust, high quality, dependability, and noise free operation. Using only high quality screen cables, hand picked resistors and capacitors, Pete Cornish treats every pedal made as if it is for a world touring band. Every detail, however minor, is worked out to ensure compatibility with other effects, superior quality, and lasting use.
SS-2
This unit is a feature in the Pete Cornish pedal boards and is now available in a stand-alone unit. The SS-2 satisfies a tremendous void in the rock musician’s arsenal of tone colours. This stomp box bridges the gap between the Totally Clean and Extreme Saturation of available guitar effects units.
The Pete Cornish SS-2 is an ideal companion to any clean guitar/amplifier set-up. Dependent on input signal level and Sustain setting, this pedal automatically adjusts itself to one or two stage harmonic generation, allowing subtle through aggressive effects with superb response to the natural dynamics of the guitar.
The SS-2 has wide range Sustain, Tone, and Volume controls and we recommend that you start with all controls in the centre position and make small adjustments as you play, not forgetting to adjust the Volume to match the bypassed level each time. Higher settings of the Sustain control will usually require lower settings of the Tone control and vice-versa. The SS-2 is amazingly responsive to changes in both guitar volume and picking articulation, retaining all the tonal nuances of your guitar sound. Using the SS-2 with a clean amp it is possible to progress from subtle overdriven amp sounds, through rhythmic crunch, up to blues lead capable of amazing power and sustain.
