The Hot Plate is a power attenuator that sits between your amp and speaker(s). It allows you to obtain the full output distortion of a tube amplifier at lower volumes, without sacrificing tone. The Hot Plate can also function as a high quality direct box, allowing you to send the amp's signal to a mixing board, a separate power amplifier or to rack mount effects without miking the speaker(s). THD Yellow Jacket Duet ( valves not included ) This is one of the simplest and best modifications you can make to any valve amp powered by EL34 or 6L6 power tubes. Replacing these high power output valves with a Yellow Jacket and an EL84 power tube enables you to bring your power output down to more sensible levels!! For example, a Marshall 100w Plexi is simply too loud for most venues, stick a couple of pairs of these in and we can get our 100 watts down to approximately 30 watts enabling you to drive your amp into the wonderfully saturated overdrive packing an incredible punch but at a more sensible gigging venue.
