The John Patitucci signature bass is the ultimate 6-string bass in our TRB series bass line.

John Patitucci's ecletic musical influences and formidable jazz-led technique demand a bass of the highest quality and versatility - and that's the TRB6JP. With a 34”-scale neck carrying a custom-inlaid, two-octave ebony fingerboard, the instrument features a sumptuous sandwich body, marrying the punch of alder with a mellowing layer of ash and a bright-sounding maple top. For added right-hand leverage, a 'slap cut' is sculpted into the lower bout.

Our TRBJP John Patitucci signature bass is made to John's specs with the original 34" scale, a 6-string ebony-on rosewood neck, a solid brass bridge, and a sandwiched body that seasons the punch of alder with a mellowing layer of ash and a top of bright-sounding maple. There's a lower-bout "slap cut" for the leverage John likes, a sophisticated wiring scheme that lets you cut or boost highs, lows, and a user-definable mid frequency-that can coax astonishing tones from the J-pickups.

The Yamaha John Patitucci Signature Bass is the result of the inspired relationship between John and Yamaha; it features: a custom sculptured body of highly figured maple, ash and alder, a six string bolt-on neck, active electronics, custom inlay and gold hardware.

Active 5-Control System
The active control system featuring 3-band EQ gives tremendous tonal versatility. The midrange EQ control is a presettable 3-position switch for fast, repeatable settings.

Bolt-on Neck
The John Patitucci models all feature the Yamaha all-access bolt-on neck joint. This type of neck and neck-joint are true classics for good reason: enhanced punch, and defined attack.

Active electronics
The Yamaha 5-control Active System Electronics. Our custom 3-band EQ gives the TRBs extensive tonal versatility. And the 3 position Midrange control, with user tweakable settings, facilitates fast and repeatable presets.
