Taking over where its predecessors left off, the bi-amped design MSP10 Studio offers internal design innovations, improved materials, and significant refinements to the midrange performance and crossover parameters for uncolored, more accurate sound.
"From the professional recording facility to the home studio, high sample rate digital source material has become the norm," states Wayne Hrabak, marketing manager, Yamaha Professional Audio. "Nearfield monitor technology has, in turn, had to evolve in order to rise to that same quality. With the MSP10 Studio, Yamaha offers the combination of history, research and major improvements that will not only meet but also exceed those standards."
The internal components of the MSP10 Studio are aligned within micron-tolerance, ideally matched and precisely tuned for the best possible performance. The 4-ohm 8" cone woofer is driven by a 120-watt power amplifier, and the 8-ohm 1" titanium dome tweeter has its own 60-watt power amplifier, resulting in balance between low-mid and high frequency ranges, a smooth high frequency response up to and beyond 40 kHz, and an integrated waveguide that achieves uniform dispersion over 120 degrees--ideal for surround monitoring and mixing.
